Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library
Niles Township, Illinois
Bringing books to the children of Niles Township.
Founded in 1995 by Dolly Parton, the Imagination Library was created in honor of her father and is dedicated to inspiring a love of reading by mailing free, high-quality books directly to children each month. Today, the program distributes more than 3 million books worldwide every month.
Starting in the spring of 2026, Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library of Niles Township is the first program of its kind in North Suburban Cook County. Through a partnership between Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library and Niles Township government, libraries, foundations, and community organizations, local families can enroll eligible children from under five years old to receive one free book each month—at no cost.
